Be a part of history ! Join us on June 7th in our quest to shoot 100,000 shots in one day! Basketball enthusiasts from the North Shore and beyond will join together and collectively shoot 100,000 shots at three different venues in North Vancouver. In the spring of 2005 Quinn Keast was a grade 11 student at Handsworth in North Vancouver. As the summer approached, senior boys’ coach Randy Storey told Quinn that he would be an important component of the team in his grade 12 year and he wanted Quinn to take 30,000 shots over the summer to hone his skills. Quinn’s response was that he would take 100,000 shots! He pursued this seemingly insurmountable task day and night during that summer and into the school year. He studied technique and did what shooters have to do: practice and practice more. In the 2005-2006 year Quinn co-captained Handsworth to the provincial AAA championship earning Player-of-the-Final-Game honours for an inspired performance. Quinn showed that dedication and perseverance can overcome ability in a game you love. All participants will receive a “No Regrets” wrist band and participants that shoot enough shots will be given a free ticket to the games at Cap College later that night. Shooting will take place at Argyle and Handsworth Secondary Schools as well as Capilano College. The event is open to participants of all ages and all skill levels. Handsworth and Argyle alumni will be dropping in to support the cause. Many of these alumni players are currently active in the CIS and NCAA ! To register in advance click here: 100,000 SHOTS REGISTRATION Participants in the event will be encouraged to bring along a well cared for pair of used basketball shoes to donate to Hoops 4 Hope. It is our objective to “Ring the Gym” with basketball shoes at the games that will be taking place Capilano College later that night. For further information contact: Tom Keast - 604-985-1318
