Mac Fairbairn Earns QKF Scholarship Mac Fairbairn has seen some of the best basketball action in the history of the North Shore while playing senior through the golden years at Argyle in North Vancouver. But in his final season it was he who led the Pipers by playing a complete game at every outing. In regular season play he averaged 26 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Not long after the Howe Sound Tournament in February, 2007 at which time Mac was singled out for a Quinn Keast Foundation scholarship, Mac was chosen as the recipient of the Youth Leadership award at the North Shore Sport Awards. Mac played with Quinn at 3D Basketball Academy for four years where they both had the challenge of playing with arguably the best couple of years of North Shore players ever.
Mac will be joining the University of Saskatchewan Huskies this fall. "Mac is a real blue-chip prospect," commented head coach Greg Jockims. "His skills will fit very well into our systems and our program. He's tough, can defend and he can really get to the hoop and finish with his athleticism. He's also very competitive and works very hard, both on and off the court." Congratulations to Mac on his performance, his love of the game and his playing with no regrets. |
