Quinn didn't make a name for himself in basketball because of flashy athleticism. He was an enormously strong and tenacious defender with a sense of anticipation that closed passing lanes and caused many opposition turnovers. As an offensive player he ran the floor tirelessly such that the fast break was always a threat. His shooting stroke was something he worked on tirelessly.
